FEATURED ARTIST: KENNY MASHISHI
Kenny Mashishi's figurative drawing style is characterized by dense application of colored pencil and bold, simple shapes cleanly outlined in black ink. Landscapes and nature are some of Kenny's favorite subjects, and his scenery feels friendly and inviting. In addition to the concise forms he draws, he also makes note of more subtle details like the ripples of water or varied texture of the ground. Multiple layers of background create a sense of space that is simultaneously flat and layered. When not making work at Art Enables, Kenny enjoys watching cartoons at home, especially The Patrick Star Show, Power Puff Girls, and The Loud House. He also loves going to the playground, swimming in pools, and flying on planes.
You can currently see Kenny's work on view in our studio gallery in "All This and Heaven, Too," in "Grounding Our Dreams/Dreaming New Ground" at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, and in our storefront windows as a Front Window Spotlight artist.
