Toni Lane Visits Her Work at the Library of Congress

Art Enables is thrilled to share the exciting news of our resident artist, Toni Lane's recent visit to the Library of Congress. On February 22, Toni had the unique opportunity to visit a few old friends — seven of her own works of art.

Some may remember that in 2020, just a few short months after COVID-19 began, the Library of Congress acquired seven of Toni’s pieces. Pieces that documented the Pandemic through her lived experiences. Notably, these pieces were among the first to be acquired in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, reflecting the power of art to capture and express the human experience during challenging times. These works now live in the Photographs and Prints archive of the Library of Congress.

Toni Lane was warmly welcomed by Katherine Blood, the Curator of Fine Prints. The day began with a personal tour, allowing Toni to delve into the library's rich history and diverse collection. Toni remarked that she had not been to the library since she was a kid, so to see it now as an adult, she had a newfound appreciation of the treasures it holds.

After the tour, Toni was taken deep into the library’s tunnels to the vault where her work resides. The visit was a reunion of sorts for Toni and her creations, allowing her to reconnect with the pieces she hasn’t seen since 2020. The Library of Congress, known for its commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of the United States, recognized the significance of Toni's work and its contribution to the artistic narrative of our times.

Toni Lane's art holds a special place in the heart of Art Enables, and we are immensely proud to see her talent recognized on such a grand scale. With its vast and diverse collection, the Library of Congress serves as a fitting home for Toni's creations, ensuring that audiences will appreciate them for generations to come.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Toni Lane for this extraordinary accomplishment and express our gratitude to the Library of Congress for recognizing the importance of supporting artists during challenging times. As we continue to celebrate the achievements of our talented artists, we look forward to witnessing more moments where art transcends boundaries and finds its place in the cultural tapestry of our world.
