“ONE LAST JOB”
Art Enables Assembles at Culture House
May 10 – June 14, 2025
Art Enables borrows tried and true action/thriller movie tropes for this group exhibition: a motley crew of misfits–each a highly skilled expert called out of near-retirement–teaming up to complete a high stakes operation: one last job. Some of the Art Enables artists’ most exciting characters from past exhibitions have gathered at Culture House, pulled from their hideouts in far-flung corners of the earth. They’re pooling their skills to introduce you to the diverse talents of the Art Enables artists. They were told the job would be simple if they stuck to the plan. “In and out, and then you can go off the grid, living large on your mountain of cash.” But we have a feeling some hijinks might complicate the plan. Yes, the stakes are high, but as this crew agrees—no risk, no reward!
Exhibiting artists: A.T., Maurice Barnes, Duane Blacksheare-Staton, Marti Clark, Calvin “Sonny” Clarke, Josephine Finnell, Michael Haynes, Mike Knox, Toni Lane, Paul Lewis, Raymond Lewis, Keith Lewis, Vanessa Monroe, Dennis Quillin, Eileen Schofield, Imani Turner
“We are in for a thrilling adventure,” says Culture House Gallery, “with enticing characters reflecting the insights, experiences, and prowess of local artists.”
Opening reception: Thursday, May 15, 6 – 8 p.m. at Culture House
Culture House Gallery hours: Saturdays, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. + by appointment
