Volunteer Spotlight on Allison L. (she/her)

Introducing our new Volunteer Spotlight where each month we recognize the unique contributions of our volunteer corps. At Art Enables, we value community and accessibility, so we want to aim the spotlight on the outstanding volunteers who help propel these ideals and impact our programs in special ways. 

This month we recognize Allison L. who has been volunteering at our Saturday workshops since 2023. Allison possesses a very patient and calming personality, and strives to make visitors of all ages and abilities feel welcome. She is very flexible and able to adjust to many different situations that can arise in our drop-in style workshops. She demonstrates deep care and concern by asking students just the right questions to aid in their probleming-solving and creativity. Thank you Allison for being such a valuable member of our community!

“I previously worked in an art studio at a children's museum and was particularly drawn to volunteer at Art Enables because I love these art-focused community events and spaces. I attended my first Art Enables Saturday workshop in May 2023. It was a fabric painting project led by Art Enables resident artist, Toni Lane. I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere in the studio, being surrounded by the work of Art Enables artists, and having fun with other community members as we worked on our creations! 

Now as an Art Enables volunteer, my favorite things are seeing how each participant approaches the activity in their own unique way and immersing myself in the warmth of the Art Enables community of resident artists, staff, fellow volunteers, and participants!”
