“Music is important to me because it shows my feelings. I drew my piece 'Early Radio' because I wanted to show the sound that comes through the speaker. I wanted to show the history of music. People used classic radios back in the day. I want people to feel like they are going through a magical tunnel, through a different song dimension. It’s like going back in time.” - Mara Clawson
“I drew 'My Dancing Tiger,' a tiger dancing next to a boombox, because guess what I like at clubs?! I like the DJ and their big speakers. Whenever I go to events I like to stand next to the speakers. And the music makes me want to dance! In my piece, 'Sweet Man Playing Music,' the man is playing smooooth jazz. I love music. My favorite are songs by Michael Jackson like 'Beat It' and 'Thriller.' Music just makes me so happy.” - Imani Turner
