Art Enables is honored to partner with Amtrak for an exhibition offering travelers a window into an exciting part of the District’s rich arts community. “Forward: A Group Exhibition” showcases the remarkable talent of the resident artists at Art Enables — Washington, DC’s only studio and gallery dedicated to helping artists in the disability community to advance their craft, raise their profile, and earn income from their art. Curated by Art Enables’ Marissa Long, this exhibition reflects the vibrant spirit of our community while inviting the public to explore, connect, and be inspired.
The artwork on the 30 windows along the Gate G and Gate L hallways leading to the lower-level section of the station is organized in six different displays — representing visual diversity, unified by various themes.
At Art Enables, we believe in the transformative power of art. Our mission is grounded in our long-held conviction that a robust and equitable visual arts landscape must not only include the perspectives, stories, and lived experiences of artists with disabilities but also center them in ways that inform, challenge, and enrich our nation’s cultural identity.
We welcome you to join us on our mission to create a more inclusive art world by DONATING, SHOPPING ARTWORK, or VISITING OUR GALLERY.
