2nd Saturday Workshop: GET WIRED with Craig Meklir

Posted on: May 01

Would creating contemporary-wire art embolden your inner Auguste Rodin? Would twisting and bending wire into uber-chic home décor transform your walls from drab to fab? If so, our wire workshop on May 13th, 1 – 4pm is a must! The workshop features light-gauge sculpting wire and lots of creativity for making stirring works of art and home décor. And you don’t need to be an experienced artist either — the workshop is designed for artists of all ages and skill levels — the only requisite is having fun with wire and exploring one of art’s most important concepts — lines! The workshop is free and all materials are provided.

About the Instructor: Craig Michael Meklir is a self-taught artist who lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, with his wife and two daughters. His artwork, which ranges from realistic portraits to colorful abstractions, has been featured in exhibits in and around the Washington, D.C., area. He also writes about artistic events and museums on his blog at http://craigmichaelmeklir.com/blog/.

It’s also Gateway Arts District’s Open Studio Tour, with performances, demonstrations, exhibits, and talks, so stop in before or after – only a mile up the road from our studio!
