Two New Shows Opening Feb. 11th!

Earth – Air – Fire – Water… Art Enables’ resident artists explore these four fundamental elements in the Studio Gallery’s newest group show, ELEMENTAL.
Pieces in the show draw on the basic elements of earth, air, fire, and water to explore varied themes. Some pieces evoke tender moments, like Toni Lane’s Naptime in which a mother cradles a newborn while a gentle sea rocks the bed upon which they are resting. Other pieces take on more serious themes, like Dethaw Cotman’s To Eat is to Be Ate and Imani Turner’s The Snake in the Garden, which both explore the Garden of Eden and the struggle against temptation. A few pieces are light-hearted, as with Violet Lucas’ reinterpretation of Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, featuring Family Guy characters.
Experience ELEMENTAL at our Studio Gallery. The exhibition opens with an artist reception on February 11th, 1 – 4pm, and closes on April 8th. Free and open to the public, with light refreshments provided.
The Art Enables Studio Spotlight Series is dedicated to providing small group exhibition opportunities for Art-Enables’ artists. Usually 2-3 exhibiting artists per show, the Studio Spotlight Series provides an invaluable professional development opportunity for our member artists. Not only are they provided the opportunity to exhibit their work in a small group format, they are also involved in the full exhibition experience, from curation to promotion to installation. The Studio Spotlight Series seeks to create both exposure and exhibition experiences that are invaluable for established and emerging artists alike. It is our passion, and our honor, to highlight their exceptional talent and work ethic through the Studio Spotlight Series.
The Off-Rhode Gallery celebrates the work of three Art Enables’ resident artists – Raymond Lewis, Eileen Schofield, and Gary Murrell.
