Art Enables joined partner Melwood Horticultural Training Center at the National Cathedral Plant Sale, May 2 and 3, the annual flower market held on the beautiful west grounds of the Cathedral. The sponsor of the event this year was the Belgian Embassy, and Art Enables artists created 12 canvases on Belgian themes: art nouveau architecture and design, boutique beers, Belgian lace, Breugel. And as a nod to the synergy between the arts and horticulture, Art Enables added hand-painted flower pots and bird houses. After a flying start Friday when the canvases went windborn, Melwood horticulturist Lana Dreyfuss and Art Enables ED Joyce Muis-Lowery battened things down for a very successful end run.
