Inspired by his aunt who is a quilt maker, Chris started experimenting with the repeated patterns and stitch-like accents familiar from the patchwork tradition. He discovered that the technique not only suited his esthetic sense but gave him a combination of freedom and constraint which suited his temperament. Chris still does other sorts of images, but the “quilts” are what he comes back to when he wants to have real fun.
